My Story
Before Curt Crowd was officially born, I was on a serious soul-searching journey to discover what my dream company would look like. It had to touch people’s lives and make the world a better place. It had to have high revenue potential so it could cultivate the kind of positive social change I was seeking. And, I wanted it to be unlike anything else out there. So, I put my life under a microscope to find something great.
I’ve always loved Apple, both the technology and the company. Being the spouse of an Apple employee meant their latest devices would always arrive at our family’s doorstep quickly. I’d stay happily immersed in their ecosystem and inspired by how they engage so many different people’s passions using technology.
Once wanting to be a school teacher myself, it took me becoming a parent with two boys in elementary school to get a glimpse of the incredible teamwork and collaboration required to educate our youth. Our teachers play such a monumental role in shaping generations, which is why it’s sad to see all the challenges these amazing humans face.
Naturally these elements shaped my brainstorming and allowed me to see the opportunities of both. I knew the business and social change I envisioned was somewhere in all of this! So, I engaged in years of research, answered big questions, designed blueprints, and patiently waited out a crazy pandemic. My vision is a crowd effort so I hope you’ll be part of the journey! ~ Curt
My Teacher Inspiration!
“My 5th Grade teacher Mrs. Burgess, her classroom walls covered with huge seal posters, got through to me despite my messy childhood. Her field trip to Año Nuevo State Park on the California coast is a cherished memory that solidified my lifelong connection to the ocean.” – Curt
